When I say I was VERY excited to test out my first ever Radeon card, I could barely contain myself opening up the box to put it into my system. For context, my current motherboard is an MSI Meg X570 Unify running a Ryzen 5800X3D and 32GB of 4000MHZ memory. I wasn't happy with my previous 4070ti's performance (which also had HORRENDOUS COIL WHINE) so I figured why not pay a little bit more for double the VRAM (yes, I know VRAM isn't everything), and try out AMD's flagship card to see if it really is a 4080 contender.Short story: I'm returning this hunk of junk and my Gigabyte 4080 arrives in just a few days (which I am now VERY excited for because the 4070ti was already a solid card, and this one should be just perfect for my system's needs.Long story: I'm actually kind of a fan of these huge graphics cards, even if they are a bit ridiculous. This is definitely the biggest card I've ever seen, and this TUF card weighs in around 7.5 POUNDS on its own. Sheesh. It BARELY fit into my NZXT H5 Flow case, but I will admit that the fitment is very satisfying even if its size isn't necessarily ideal. The massive size of the card definitely warrants lots of cooling, so the cooling performance can be credited.I've heard about Tuf Gaming cards before, in terms of build quality, it's excellent, looks attractive, and again, feels premium. Unfortunately, my worst fears were realized when I booted my system and attempted to use the card. Not only are AMD's current graphic drivers unstable, but the card genuinely performs worse in every way than the 4070ti that is supposed to be SEVERAL tiers below this card. Ironically, lowering quality presets in certain games also seemed to worsen my performance even more. Gaming at 1440p, I noticed horrible stuttering, texture artifacts, and arguably the worst coil whine on a graphics card I have ever heard. It's unacceptable. For a flagship card, I am incredibly disappointed with AMD. I had high expectations for this card's performance (I know it's no 4090), but my outgoing 3070 never broke a sweat most of the time, and this card can barely play Halo or Call of Duty at medium settings. 24 GB of VRAM! 24! And the card performs like it only has 8 and I'm using almost all of it. It's pathetic. The coil whine doesn't appear to be fixable, even with undervolting. I have a 1000W PSU from Corsair that is Platinum rated. Nothing about my system is misplaced or problematic. I clean installed the graphics drivers and updated my Windows 10.It's a shame. I was looking forward to this card, but also looking forward to not giving Nvidia more money, but sadly, Nvidia's driver support is just more reliable and the performance of the 40 series card is just better.Don't get me wrong, there may be good 7000 series cards out there, but this TUF card isn't one of them. AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS.

Being an nVidia fan for a very long time....my latest system build called for new considerations. Adding the Samsung Neo G9 57" meant I wanted a GPU that could drive Display Port at 240Hz refresh rate. The RX 7900 XT OC 20G not only does that but is also over clocked and boasts 20GB of GDDR6 video ram. I am primarily a linux and this GPU is fully supported (@ 240Hz refresh rate) with kernel 6.8 and above. Radeon is supported at the kernel level due to AMD's support in linux! In windows, after a metric ton of driver installs and driver updates, etc, etc, it just works as it should! This GPU is excellent. It runs cool and drives anything I need without even breaking a sweat! It looks great in my new chassis and gets along well with my Asus ROG Strix B650E-F motherboard w/Ryzen 7950X CPU, ASUS ROG Strix LC II 360 ARGB All-in-one AIO Liquid CPU Cooler, 64 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5 RAM, and finally the dual SAMSUNG 990 PRO SSD 2TB PCIe 4.0 M.2 drives. Everything just works flawlessly! NOTE: this GPU is massive so measure your case and allow for it! I also bought a support for the far end as can be seen in the photo.I spent a LOT of time researching for this build and do not make decisions lightly. I cannot say enough about how happy I am with this purchase. Once again, ASUS delivers!! You cannot go wrong with this GPU.Oh frame rates? I've only so far played Call of Duty - Modern Warfare III on windows and with basic non-overclocked, non-optimized settings, I was getting around 90 fps at 240Hz refresh rate at 7680x2160 resolution. On Linux I played a little Nexuiz, Alien Arena, and OpenArena and in all cases without optimizing any settings on the GPU but setting the games to maximum everything, hit well above 100 fps.Perhaps it's my setup combination OR just this GPU is steller. Either way....it rocks!!!

EDIT: I went through the RMA process with ASUS and got a replacement unit. I have not been having the system freezing issues. The card works great now! My suggestion to anyone buying this card is to not spend more than 3 days trying to apply software fixes to stop system freezing issues. Do not hesitate to RMA this card if you have those weird issues. With everything working now I can say I definitely like this card a lot. The ASUS TUF model has great cooling and stays relatively quiet for my use case and with 24GB of VRAM this thing easily will handle most modern titles at 3440x1440. This thing easily outpaces my 3080 in rasterization and can mostly match the 4080. Now that I have a working unit after going through ASUS RMA, I can easily recommend this model to others.Original Review (no longer valid; had a bad unit):This card has potential to be great, but the instability I've been experiencing with this GPU has left me with numerous headaches where I wish I would have just stuck with Nvidia. I do not know if I was sent a faulty GPU, but I've been experiencing the infamous driver timeouts and have tried numerous software fixes to no avail. The worst part is that they happen randomly so I can't tell exactly what is triggering these timeouts. When I am not suffering driver timeouts, this card performs very well and has a lot to offer. But a stable card is much better than one that causes your system to freeze. To those thinking about buying this particular GPU, go with an NVIDIA 4080 and save yourself the headaches of these driver timeouts.

I’ve been an nvidia fan for my entire career of building my own PCs. They’ve always treated me well, especially when EVGA was still selling them. This was my first time getting away from Nvidia because I just couldn’t get past the insane prices that Nvidia thinks they can charge. So this card comes on my radar and I did some good research on it, and decided to pull the trigger on it along with a new mobo, processor, ram, etc.Let me tell you, this thing does not disappoint. I’m running BO6 at 200 FPS. I am a convert and will never give Nvidia my money again.Just to add that the user interface compared to Nvidia is just way better too. The thing runs great, looks great, and is a blast to have in my PC.

I picked this up in an emergency when my GForce died. This has more than enough memory and handles 100% everything I throw at it and runs 2 monitors with ease with space for two more directly on the graphics card.At first I thought it was broken because my GForce had screaming fans to keep it cool while this, the fans never came on while playing Days Gone. The reality is that it was always cool. The fans came on when necessary. This card was cheaper and has twice the memory as my GForce and if AMD keeps this up I will not go back to NVidia. You put way too much into bragging rights about what your rig can do with the LED's and Over Clocking.I would rather play the game instead of showing off the PC itself.Unless it breaks down, I highly recommend this card. But I'll tell you now, get it directly from the ASUS website. When you can buy it cheaper directly from the manufacturer then there is an issue. Especially when they cost over a grand.

Runs exceptionally with my system, I play a few different types of games with this gpu .I’m playing everything from Forza horizon 5 to Destiny 2 and everything between. The graphics are amazing, runs ice cold, I got this gpu to use instead of the graphics aspect of my 5700g’s graphics aspect , and haven’t had any complaints, I also use it to create artwork amongst other things. It’s really been a beast !My spec levels are ( in simple terms)A520 motherboard,R7 5700 gCorsair 32gb ram550 w powerAnd the 6600 in a micro case ,The performance at 1080 is flawless,Noise level doesn’t exist,No stuttering, no chop, no issues !On a beer budget, I got champagne!
