Its an amazing book for intermediate to advanced users. Lots of incisive information for achieving a proper automation

This book gets into the details of running automated Web tests with Selenium WebDriver, if you are after a more introductory level of Selenium you may need to start elsewhere, you're expected to have a familiarity with coding from the get go.Most of the samples are written in java, but can be easily adapted to other languages (like c#).The first few chapters start with concrete test code examples of WebDriver , and explanation of the various error conditions in WebDriver are well documented.A chapter on working with the DOM, and interacting with it using web-driver. Next, details working with JavaScript, details of working with downloading file content and other advanced topics and some content on working with Docker and Selenium.Overall, there is a decent amount of content of getting going with WebDriver and various environmental configurations that can be configured.

A must read for those wishing to develop their own frameworks using Selenium. The book addresses the common problems with Selenium with clear, concise explanations and provides coded examples in Java.Most importantly for me, the book does not just repeat the basics that other books seem to but seeks to differentiate itself. The chapter on using Docker is a particularly good one, giving a basic grounding in Docker and how to use it with Selenium.Overall I found the book to be excellent and I was really glad I purchased it.

This is a good book that proves its value once you have some experience with Selenium WebDriver. If you're just starting out, I'd suggest reading and working with another book before you consult this one unless you're stuck on a specific problem. You will miss some of the lessons in Mastering Selenium WebDriver if you don't have any experience.Mastering Selenium WebDriver will refine your understanding of common use cases and problems encountered with Selenium WebDriver. The chapter on explicit waits is worth reading because I read two other Selenium WebDriver books which presented the material incorrectly. The chapters on javascript execution and advanced UI interactions (moving the mouse pointer, handling hover events) is excellent. The final chapters of the book provide a brief overview of network traffic, performance testing, and penetration tools that fall outside the presentation layer handled by Selenium WebDriver, but are still part of a tester's responsibilities; the information provided will give people unfamiliar with these subjects a place to start.I am very pleased to have this book in my collection.
