This product will not charge or even try to run a drill. I bought more than one and all of them are the same. Copy cats are just making the outside look like an original but they are not even close besides being made from plastic. Do not waste your money.

Product arrived without retail packaging, contrary to the seller website. Without proof of purchase from the retail packaging (UPC code), RIDGID will not allow you to register the product for the manufacturer's 3-year warranty. Batteries do fail prematurely sometimes, so you are taking a risk going without a warranty. The battery appears new and genuine from the OEM. Since I'm returning it, I didn't test it on any power tools.Oct 2015 Update: After the CEO of 3rd Venue reached out to me directly, I decided to keep the battery. He said that they don't have an official warranty program but "If I say I will replace your battery any time in the next 3 years, you can count on it, and take it to the bank :-)". I have his email, his company has his email on their server and Amazon has it on their server. So I didn't return the battery. I've been using it for 5 months now and have to say that it has performed flawlessly. While I don't have a 3 year manufacturer's warranty, I do have the CEO's promise backed in writing. When you consider all that and the price, you have a winner and 5 stars.

What was I thinking buying a battery like this online? We all know that buying these types of batteries online can have some downfalls. For me, the biggest concern is not knowing if I am receiving an actual OEM battery or some cheap knock-off.The battery I received was no doubt an OEM Ridgid battery. It fits perfectly with no slop and securely "clicks" into place. Another thing to worry over is how long your newly purchased battery will hold a charge. Yet again, the battery I received held a charge a lot longer than I expected.If you are debating to buy this battery then I would say to go ahead and purchase it. Before buying this battery online I was worried that I was throwing away my money for a junk battery. After using the battery all fears were gone and would have no issues purchasing this again.

Performs well so far. I have high expectations as this is TOP DOLLAR for the best model available at the time. I purchase two to work with my RIGID portable fans and USB charger.
