Description
Real 55mm Large Ball Head: WEYLLAN CH55 high-quality tripod ball head with 55mm super large diameter ball is much more stable. This all-metal panoramic ball head is made of premium aluminum alloy and machined by all CNC technology. It is durable and smooth to use. Benefited from the low center of gravity design, its maximum load bearing capacity is high up to 88lbs/40kg Unique Damping Fine-tuning Setting: What are the benefits of damping setting of tripod ball head? The main knob is responsible for quickly adjusting the tightness of ball, and the damping fine-tuning knob can keep the ball in a "loose" state with proper damping, which is convenient for precise composition, especially for heavy telephoto lenses, more easy to use. In addition, the metal diamond-shaped locking knob increases friction and is more convenient to use Double U-Notch Design: The ball head with double U-shaped notch design can easily switch from horizontal shooting to vertical shooting, which greatly improves the efficiency and is also very suitable for multi-angle shooting Wide Compatibility: This low profile ball head has a quick release plate with a 1/4 inch screw and a 3/8 inch female thread at the bottom, it fits most DSLR cameras, camcorders, heavy duty binoculars and tripods, monopods, camera sliders, etc Tripod Head Packaging: CH55 ball head*1, tripod head bag*1, quick release plate*2, 1/4'' to 3/8'' adapter*1, hexagonal wrench*1

I was able to lock my heavy barrel bolt gun with bipod out toward barrel end of ARCA rail in horizontal position. However the ball locking knob is not optimal for locking down that heavy a load.I was able to crank it down, but it would be nice with a better lever.Pretty smooth though and nice friction knob.Worked great for my spotting scope for panning my field and in the wind with a bog tripod.

This Weyllan ball head was a big surprise both from a size and functional point of view. It is bigger than I expected and a smaller one would probably have been enough for my 200-600mm but I decided to keep it anyway as I particularly liked the shapes and the sizes of the locking screws. Once it is tightened the ball will not move. Very impressive. Highly recommended.

I own several tripods and ball heads, but recently started photographing more wildlife and birds with a big telephoto lenses. The combined weight of the camera and lens did not work well with my existing (and expensive) ball heads; often I would focus and lock on a subject, tighten the control knob, release and then have the lens/camera sag and de-center the image. I needed something more robust.I did look at high end ball heads but their cost seemed excessive. The Weyllan 55mm heavy duty, low profile unit seemed like a very good value, so I ordered it.It arrived on time, well-packed and boxed. I attached the unit to my heavy duty tripod and mounted my camera/telephoto lens and took it outside to photograph some goldfinches. The ball head did not move once I locked in on the subject. It held its position. I was quite pleased. The movements are smooth, particularly the pan base. If you want super-smooth ball movement you will need to look at units considerably more expensive.I did have a minor problem with the small fine-tuning/tension knob and contacted the seller. They responded to my email in less than 24 hours and suggested a fix (some of the issue was me - operator error). It worked and the unit is now my go-to ball head for serious work. Highly recommended.

Nicely machined. I love the knurled knob (vs. a paddle or lever), the large diameter ball... and the fair price! I replaced the original pan/tilt head of my old, trusty Manfrotto and have not regretted it!
