It takes a lot for me to write a review, but I want to warn others in case they are considering doing so.Short answer: don't buy this. The screen was foggy and dark. I couldn't increase the brightness, and all of the images/graphics looked muddy. And because the screen was so dark, it made playing games, that I've normally had no issues with, unplayable due to motion sickness. The lighting on the monitor in general is terrible. If you are reading text, there is a weird halo/stroke around each word, making it difficult to read. I constantly had to drag files and text documents over to my other monitor (which is an old Samsung flat screen that definitely outshines this monitor) in order to be able to read anything at all.I replaced this monitor immediately with another curved monitor of the same size but different brand. At first I thought it was going to be the same and that's just how the curved monitors' image quality looked. I was so wrong. The new monitor was maybe $150 CAD more (at the time) and the quality of the one is fantastic, like it's actually meant to be a monitor instead of this shadow box I replaced it with.I'm also noting that between the time I ordered it and then returned it, the price of the monitor dropped significantly. But it's still not worth the discount. "You get what you pay for" has never been more blatant than before. Don't hurt your eyes because this is the best option. Save a little more money and invest in something else. And to those who say that it's because I'm probably not using the appropriate display port, I did use the appropriate VESA certified DP cabel and it made no difference in quality. This isn't a sync issue. It's an image quality issue. Both DP and HDMI cords of the highest order did nothing (I even tried ordering different brands of the VESA certified cable, and there was no change).Overall very disappointed. This is not even worthy of reading text on a word document, much less gaming. I possibly would have left a two-star review if the text wasn't also a huge issue. It's not even suitable for work purposes, let alone gaming and graphic design.Current price of this monitor upon review is $598. (And this is a huge drop from what I paid for it only a few weeks after I initiated the return).

The Samsung 34" Odyssey G5 Gaming Monitor has been an absolute gem in my workstation, providing unparalleled visual performance that's taken my productivity to the next level. The UWQHD resolution and 165Hz refresh rate have made navigating multiple applications simultaneously a breeze, while the HDR capabilities have allowed me to appreciate even the smallest details with stunning clarity.AMD FreeSync technology ensures seamless transitions between frames, minimizing screen tearing and ghosting. I've been blown away by the monitor's accuracy, color reproduction, and overall picture quality, which has greatly enhanced my workflow and reduced eye strain. With its generous curved 34" size and adjustable stand, this monitor has become an indispensable part of my workspace, allowing me to focus on the task at hand without distractions or visual fatigue.

This thing can get really bright, I tested at a normal time to be awake (4:00am) and turned off my bedroom lights, before flashbanging myself in a game. All I will say, never again will I do it.But hey, it is pretty good, wayyy bigger than I thought it would be, 32 inches is a lot bigger than you'd think, unless you already have a 32 incher, or a long enough ruler or measuring tape, then you know. Honestly the only thing I use this for is playing games, like, with YouTube, or Discord, or anything else I have on my other smaller monitor, it may seem to make no sense to not use it for something when I'm not playing anything, but, uhm, it's a good point, I should use it for other things.Besides all that rambling, it good, expensive, but good.

WOW!This monitor has succeeded my expectations, I was nervous after seeing some of these reviews. But let me tell you. Once you get this monitor you will never be able to go back to a 32inch or less.I bought this monitor to be my main monitor for streaming/playing games as I wanted that extended view.First off, I love that Its 165hz. I have the option to go less as well but as my computer can handle this I have it set to the 165hz.The colors are bright and vibrant. I am using the Freesync and I see absolutely no tearing in games of any kind. Motion blur isn't a problem either. The screen Brightness is perfect and has night mode for all of us gamers who enjoy being awake when no one else is.I have this connected to a freestanding stand, I decided not to use the stand it came with as it fits with all my other monitors this way better and I can turn the screen as needed. So I cannot comment on the stand. The power button is on the very bottom middle and also serves as the joystick to navigate the menu.Freesync has been working great. Also what I didn't see in the description is that this monitor does have the option to put a crosshair on the screen, there are a few to choose from and you can move it around to get the perfect spot for your game. You can also adjust the Black level to either be brighter or darker. This affects things like shadows and can make enemies easier to see.My overall mark of this monitor would be a 10/10. Samsung out did themselves.
